GM nascar cylinder heads and intake manifold

GM has a long history of racing in Nascar racing, and has produced a lot of gm nascar intake manifolds. The regulations limit the engines to 358 cu in these days, and carburetors are used. One of the best known is the gm 617 nascar intake manifold, but the new R07  gm nascar cylinder heads and intake manifold are designed for high performance.

Whether GM in its new form can continue Nascar racing remains to be seen, but if it does, it has a suitable power unit and the manifold is also used as a drag race intake manifold. The latest  gm nascar intake manifold is a single plane manifold, as used on many high-performance V-8s with carburetors.

The NASCAR Vehicle: new GM nascar cylinder heads and intake manifold

This article helps to describe the original concept of a NASCAR race car and the type of car that races today.

The original concept of a NASCAR race car was that is was supposed to be composed of stock partsparts you would buy in an auto parts store. In some respects that is true but not totally. The race car is a high performance racing machine designed to withstand high G-forces when banking on turns. Let’s look at what makes up this vehicle.

The first component most are interested in is the engine of a NASCAR racing vehicle. This engine actually is very close to that which you have in your car (provided you have a big engine) but it is customized so that it can withstand high temperature and torque.

All parts in the engine of a are machined to within very tight specifications so that there is a minimum of friction. The carburetor is designed to let in the volume of air and fuel mixture required to sustain high speeds for lengthy spans of time. There are no fuel injectors in the race cars engine.

The first modification to the NASCAR vehicle was to smooth out the ride. Early races were run on tracks that were very bumpy and this causes a lot of damage. Today, the NASCAR vehicle is basically a body molded from sheet metal on a frame supported on the inside by bars made of sheet tubing. The vehicle is not a stock vehicle any longer as each component is hand-crafted and assembled. The car is built with safety in mind while giving it the ability to maintain speeds approaching 200 mph. Driver comfort is not the focus.

The NASCAR vehicle at one time was able to reach speeds in excess of 200 mph and that all changed in 1987 when Bobby Allison’s race car flew into a section of fence at the Talladega Speedway in Talledega, Alabama. Fans were injured in the stands and NASCAR took action to restrict the speed of the vehicle through what is known as a restrictor plate. This also gave birth to the term "restrictor-plate racing."

drag race intake manifold The physics of the restrictor plate have to do with reducing air intake into the intake manifold of the engine. Less air will result in lower combustion thus reducing horsepower. The restrictor plate is a sheet of metal with four holes bored in it at precise tolerances. The plate is then mounted between the intake manifold and the carburetor. After that, the NASCAR vehicle should not be able to exceed speeds of 200 mph.

It would seem like the restrictor plate would resolve the safety problem but many professional drivers have been asserting that it creates more potentially unsafe situations in a race. If you think about the difference between a motor scooter and a motorcycle you can see where a restrictor plate could create problems.

Many times a motor scooter has an accident where a motorcycle could have avoided it because of its increased ability to accelerate (a motorcycle can accelerate quicker to avoid an oncoming threat). It is the same complaint among almost all of the racers with restrictor plates. They have identified situations where the cars bunch up and the driver only has one choice and that is to slow down. Speeding up to avoid the congestion is not an option because the other cars may be at the restrictor plate limit too.

But as for now, the restrictor plate is a requirement in the race car vehicle on the majority of tracks.

NASCAR Racing Engines

BROOKLYN, Mich. – It is very possible that Brian Vickers, winner of the pole at Michigan International Speedway on Friday, could be behind the wheel of the No. 83 Red Bull Chevrolet next season.

Yes, Chevrolet.

Over the last three years, the Red Bull program has worked to gain speed but has experienced some reliability issues with the Toyota Racing Development engines.

Red Bull’s contract with Toyota is up at the end of this season. And although General Motors likely cannot afford to support additional teams at this time, Austrian billionaire Dietrich Mateschitz, who owns race teams in both NASCAR and Formula One, could certainly afford to take on the role as Chevrolet parts customer.

If Red Bull Racing was to make the switch to Chevrolet engines, Hendrick Motorsports would be the logical choice of vendor. Given Jay Frye’s relationship with HMS, most recently during the management of Ginn Racing and MB2 Motorsports prior to that, there’s a familiarity as a technical customer.

On a related note, Vickers, who won the pole on Friday, will continue driving the No. 83 Red Bull entry. A formal announcement regarding the multi-year deal is expected next week.

NASCAR Racing

As the race of the Formula One and other races as the Indy 2000, the major international success. Millions of fans from the mass of the stadiums for the various race cars. The cry of the burning of tires, because the tower is a little forgotten.

NASCAR is one of the largest organizations in the attacks in the United States. With millions of fans throughout the country, and some of the most expensive cars and to see how the teams and NASCAR bets go like peas in a pod. But we are talking today by the crew of the team.

The good news is that the formula is an individual sport and a team sport at the same time. Then, when it comes to sports betting, betting or the race, the choices we are big and full of possibilities, but it focuses on the part of the team of today.

Now, on any given day, a NASCAR driver can return to the last place to win and a long and difficult race. Some things must occur for a player to win a bet, that certain things must happen for a fact as such takes place. This is the team into the game.

Sports betting and betting on the Formula One is the whole day and the work of working on the mechanics of cars on the day to adapt to the time of the beginning of the development of the ability to adjust fuel and motors due to climatic conditions and the installation of tires on the right surface.

Teams A team can make the difference on the day of the race when the driver who wins or loses. If the car does not work at full capacity because of something that is more necessary, the driver can lose their integrity and the loss of engine power precious seconds here and there on the runway.

Corvette Intake Manifolds – aftermarket intake manifolds for ls3 corvette

The latest Corvette intake manifolds are designed to suit the supercharged LS3 engine and so are not suitable for the naturally aspirated engines. With 647 bhp @ 6,000 rpm that engine has enough power for most – in fact the latest Corvette can blast off many very expensive supercars.

However, there are still plenty of naturally aspirated LS3 Corvette engines out there that could do with some more power. In standard form, the Corvette with LS3 engine is pretty quick, but those seeking more power start with the corvette intake manifolds, as these are designed for peak power at 5,800 rpm. To get more power you need aftermarket intake manifolds for ls3 corvette. Corvette intake manifolds

Edelbrock used to be the name for intake manifolds for GM V-8s, and they still make excellent products for the carbureted engines. The Edlbrock manifold Corvette is designed for the earlier engines with carburetors, such as the LS1, and they don’t list a manifold for the LS3 at present. Maybe later Edelbrock will join the ranks of firms offering  aftermarket intake manifolds for ls3 corvette, but for now you won’t find an Edlbrock manifold Corvette for the LS3.

Although the Corvette LS3 is an old design with pushrods, it pushes out loads of torque and power – but not enough for those who want to race or blast everything away. The reason that there are not so many aftermarket intake manifolds for ls3 corvette is that the standard manifold is plastic, so it can’t be modified easily. You really need to replace it with an advanced plastic material that will withstand the high under-hood temperatures – the GM intake manifold problem is well-known.

The standard manifold is acoustically tuned to provide power up to 6,000 rpm, the ram effect increasing mid-range torque. One way of improving the performance is not to fit a high performance intake manifold for ls3 corvette, but fit a cold air intake, make from carbon fiber or another high-performance polymer. This can liberate some more power, but not much.

A new high performance intake manifold for LS3 Corvette

An alternative approach is to design a completely new manifold, and some  corvette intake manifolds are now being produced in advanced temperature resistant polymers.

One of these is the FAST high performance intake manifold for ls3 corvette.

It is a large moulded manifold that has an air intake of 102 mm, to allow maximum throughput of air, although it can be used with the 90 and 92 mm intakes, designed for more mid-range torque. This is one way of getting a bit of extra power with corvette intake manifolds.
